October 2009
From the President
Greetings Fellow Members,
It is hard to believe that summer is almost over. I guess with all the rain and cool temperatures summer didn't seem to start until mid-August, but here we we are in October.
I would like to begin my tenure as President with a huge thank you to
Rosemary Howlett. She was an amazing President, guiding the league to several
key accomplishments: the annual

New Committee Volunteers
Frank McDonough.has volunteered to be our new hospitality chairperson. He will be overseeing the hospitality of our receptions and making sure that we have enough refreshment donations from our members.
Frank will also be taking reservations for the Lundt-Glover Gallery. Please contact him for more information and available dates.
ALC Members who are part of a group of artists can
also have a NON MEMBERS exhibit at the Lundt Glover gallery at any time during
year – the non members will just have to pay $15 each per show.
So if there is one member and 5 people in their group the member can have the show for free - but
the other 5 artists will have to pay $15 each for total of $75.
Ed Schuh will be taking
reservations for the display case and an “artist of the month” to display two
pieces of their work. The work can be
left on display for longer than one month.
One piece to be exhibited in the Hallway outside the Administrative
Office and another inside the office. If
anyone is interested in either of these venues, please contact Ed at
973-635-7247.

Members’ Spotlight
Philla Barkhorn was named the New Jersey Ambassador to the Portrait Society of America.
Charles Heller recently received the Emeriti Award at the NJ Visual Arts Center Annual Members Show for his 1946 photograph "Barn Talk, CA Ranch, MT".
It is with sadness
that we have to report that Margaret Corsello has passed away. She was a very active member of our group as
Treasurer for 5 years. She always made
an effort to participate in all of our shows and attend most of our functions.

It's better to have loved and lost than to do forty

I've been in love with the same woman for forty-one

question? Love is the delightful interval between meeting a
